Milivoje J. Nikolajevic
Born in Belgrade, where he completed the grammar school and afterwards the Military Academy in 1883, as well as the High Military Academy in 1887. in his military career, among other things, he was a commander of the Royal Guard, King’s adjutant, professor in the High School of the Military Academy, chief of staff of the defense of Belgrade in 1915, military attaché of the Kingdom of Serbia in London and Brussels, as well as the manager of the Military Academy.
As Lieutenant Colonel, he was appointed the first chief of the Historical Section of the Chief General Staff of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians on May 5, 1920. Upon his appointment, he started his intensive work on collecting archival material, its arrangement and accommodation. His expert engagement created initial conditions for the further development of the Historical Section, and the basis of forming a wide-scope Military Library.
As a very fruitful writer, he published many articles and debates in numerous magazines, as well as the book ‘Geography of the Balkan Peninsula’, in five volumes, as well as a study ‘Serbia and its Allies’.
