Independent State of Croatia from 1941 to 1945
The archives of Independent State of Croatia were arranged in the Military History Institute immediately after the Second World War. 555 boxes of archival materials were arranged and processed with summary and analytical inventory. The summary inventory consists of three books, with a short description of the box content and timelines of the material in the box. The analytical inventory consists of the card files where one can find an overview to the level of documents. On the basis of the documents from the arranged part of the fund, the first edition of “Crimes committed in the Yugoslav territories during the First and Second World War” which refers to the crimes in Independent State of Croatia in 1941. Archival material of the Independent State of Croatia fund is in the process of digitization.
In 1991, the Military Archives received from the former Federal Secretariat for Foreign Affairs the archival materials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Independent State of Croatia, which were not arranged. This material has an overall length of 110 m. A part regarding the Law and Political Department was arranged and registered. However, there are no additional parameters for other departments such as General, Consular and Economic, and Journalism and Culture Department. At the end of 2009, the archival processing and arranging of this part of the fund was launched. Register Office’s books, Name and Subject Registers inventory has been made so far, as well as their classification by sub-funds, thus the sub-funds have been established and the base prepared for further arranging of the archival materials which is in progress.
